Gran Fiesta Tour ride experience…
This is one of the most popular family friendly rides in Disney World… in my opinion!
If you are in Epcot, especially if you’re traveling with young ones, this ride is a must hit along your journey.
This ride replaced the old ride called ‘Rio Del Tiempo.’
It will be slightly different if you haven’t been to Epcot in some time.
It’s a fun musical themed slow boat ride where Donald Duck is lost south of the border and you have to help his two bandmates (Panchito & José Carioca) find him.

You’ll be guided through Mexico City during this ride.
It’s comical, very festive, relaxing, and in all an enjoyable ride for anyone in the family.
This ride is busy in the morning to lunch hours. If you can, try to go on this ride towards the end of your day because there will be less of a crowd.

Getting to the Gran Fiesta Tour ride
If you’re coming from a resort that connects to a Disney Skyliner, you’ll enter Epcot through the back / side entrance.
This is called the International Gateway entrance.
Both the Skyliner and the Friendship Boat make stops at this entrance.
Learn more about taking the Disney Skyliner to Epcot…
You can walk to this entrance from the Disney Boardwalk area too.
After entering the International Gateway, you’ll want to walk through all of the world pavilion areas until you get to the World Showcase section of the park.
This area is on the water where they hold the Epcot fireworks show every night.
Right behind the water is the Mexico Pavilion (pyramid building).
Go inside this building and pass through the indoor market to find the entrance to the Gran Fiesta Tour ride.
The inside of the Mexico building has an open air market type of gift shop (pictured above) and folk art in the entry…
If you enter Epcot from the main entrance where the Disney Monorail and bus transportation drops you off, you’ll have to walk around the Epcot ball and over to the space theme area of the park.
This includes the Mission Space Epcot ride, as well as the Space220 restaurant.
Once you pass that area, you’ll see the Test Track ride on the left and then you’ll be walking right into the World Showcase and Mexico Pavilion.

Disney dining tips from Jenna Loves Magic
Remember: for any sit-down dinner or character meal, I recommend to definitely book 60 days out, or whenever your Disney dining dates open.
If you’re staying on site, you can book dining reservations earlier as a perk.
Don’t have reservations? Check regularly during your trip, on the app, or walk up to the restaurant early in the day and request a day-of reservation. Disney reservations are often dropped day-of since sometimes people “hoard them”.
I once was a walk-up and was told there would be a 90 minute wait for a table at Steakhouse 71.
Not a problem, since it’s an interesting hotel to walk around and they have an arcade.
Anyways, within 5 minutes my reservation was ready because someone canceled. So you never know.
