How close is Disneyland to the Grand Californian Hotel?

Less than half a mile!

How to get from Grand Californian to Disneyland

Grand Californian Hotel is very close to Disneyland Park, but is actually a bit closer to the other Anaheim Disney Park, California Adventure.

It takes about 5-7 minutes for an adult to walk from the Grand Californian Hotel to Disneyland.

If you’ve only stayed at Disney World resorts and this is your first time at Disneyland, I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised by how fast of a walk it is from the hotel to Disneyland Park.

Leaving Grand Californian Hotel

Once you head out of the lobby, there is one main way to get to all these destinations:

Disneyland Park
California Adventure
Downtown Disney District

You’ll walk through Downtown Disney to get to Disneyland

This is super convenient, because you’ll go through security at the hotel entrance to Downtown Disney, which is the side entrance (not the front entrance).

Usually this means less of a crowd and a faster trip to the park, unless you’re me, who has to take a million photos of Downtown Disney window displays.

Tip for getting food before heading into Disneyland

If you’re hungry, one of my favorite places to grab a bite to eat is Earl of Sandwich - you can find coffee, ice tea, breakfast sandwiches, muffins and pastries.

You can grab a bite and enjoy it in their seat-yourself indoor dining area, outside on the patio under umbrellas, or you can take it to go and bring your breakfast into the park.

If you’re going to wait to eat breakfast once you get to Disneyland, that’s cool, but lines can get busy for the restaurants in Main Street, U.S.A. Disneyland in the morning.

So, you might want to use the mobile app to order from a place like Jolly Holiday Cafe (which has a bunch of tasty food items featured in my guide to Halloween at Disneyland).
