First - Tips for dressing for Disney World in Orlando
It can be a little more difficult to stay dry, stylish, and comfortable all day long at Disney World - especially in the hot summer months.
There is definitely a balance to looking cute while wearing breathable fabrics and practical footwear choices.
Disney World outfit ideas for women
Here are some of the outfits I’ve enjoyed wearing during recent trips…
Outfit hanging out at Disney resorts at night
It can get hot, even in the early Spring at Disney World, even at night!
(This photo is from March at the Riviera Resort, which is a great deluxe Disney resort).
So a lightweight breathable top is a great choice!
This one with roses is made of very thin material, is a flowy tunic, and looks great with leggings.
And incase you're wondering - I will do a whole thing on Disney nails in another post!
Leggings with flowy top and pink Mickey ears
- Women's floral print tank top
- Lululemon leggings with side pockets (Align Hi-Rise 25")
- Pink and gold Mickey ears
- Brooks sneakers
Similar to the previous photos, but with some of my favorite leggings!
This photo is from the lobby of Disney's Polynesian Resort, where you'll find the popular Ohana character breakfast.
Casual Animal Kingdom Outfit
- Brooks sneakers
- Soma leggings
- Lightweight gray hoodie
- Pink button-down tank top
Here I'm wearing this outfit to Tusker House for the character breakfast (one of my favorites when it comes to variety, character interactions, and taste!).
Now I'm writing this post after hearing leggings might be on their way out, and if so, I sure hope not!
Because they make up a lot of my Disney World park wardrobe!
Above is a photo wearing the outfit to catch the bus from the Riviera to Animal Kingdom.
I just missed the original bus so I had some time to take a photo!
I feel like Animal Kingdom outfits are tough to style because although a lot of the park is shaded by trees, it always seems particularly humid on the days I go.
Sometimes I wear something around my waste to have an extra layer incase it gets cold in a theater or on a ride...
Other times I wear it to hide my booty! haha.
Above is another casual idea for an outfit for women to wear to Animal Kingdom.
It's the black tank top from other photos paired with a lightweight floral button down I actually bought at Whole Foods on a whim!
It's paired with a bright pink skirt from Zella (Nordstrom's brand) that matches the shirt.
And Brooks shoes on my feet!
Completing this Disney family outfit photo is my husband wearing a Raven's Mickey Shirt.
There are a lot of Disney football fans in the parks!
The topic of dressing your family for Disney World is another post for another day...
But incase you're wondering, this is my husband wearing a VERY POPULAR Mickey shirt for men (read: you'll see it EVERY DAY on some man in the park). It's from Amazon.
This is a photo of his outfit in Magic Kingdom park outside the Tiki Room which is close to a stand that sells Dole Whips!.
And he's also wearing Brooks sneakers.
Disney World dinner outfits
- Flowy floral dress
- Belt
- Flat sandals
The above photo is an idea of what my choice of outfit to wear to dinner at Topolino's Terrace in the Riviera resort looks like.
Dinner at Disney World is a time to dress up, particularly if your dining at resorts - which is one of my favorite thing to do because they are upscale but also kid-friendly.
Sometimes I wear my ears, but noticed most people don't wear ears to dinner at Disney World (not going to stop me, but noted!).
Heading to a Disney World dinner here, at one of my favorite restaurants (the Yachtsman Steakhouse in the Yacht Club Resort).
To me, the pants aren't really super-casual leggings, they're from JCrew, and are more "pant" then athletic wear...
And the top is a nice material that is flowy and good for the AC in the restaurant...
So I felt like this was a casual-but-nice Disney World dinner outfit option when I was tired and getting hangry for steak!
Epcot day outfit with skirt and shorts under them!
- Brooks sneakers
- Women's leopard ruffle skirt
- Belt
- Blue tank top
- Black hat
- Mickey ears
- Pink sling backpack bag
This photo is outside one of my favorite restaurants, Le Cellier steakhouse, in the Canada Pavilion in Epcot.
The landscaping is too beautiful to not take a photo on your way to a delicious meal.
Tips for dressing for Disneyland in Anaheim, CA
Dressing for a Disneyland trip may be a bit different from Disney World, because the temperature is cooler and varies more.
Usually at night in California it is a bit chilly and during the day can be breezy.
It isn’t usually as wet, but I do bring a rain jacket instead of ponchos.
I feel like in California when it rains, it’s more of a drizzle throughout the day than the
Also on the topic of rain…
When it comes to shoes at Disneyland, I usually wear less athletic shoes because Disneyland California is a bit easier to walk around than super spread-out Disney World.
This also matters when it comes to rain, because in planning Walt Disney World...
So, I plan shoes that will hold up in the rain...
But at Disneyland I wear cuter styles, like leather type sneakers, because I don’t plan on them getting wet (unless the weather forecast says otherwise!)
Above I am at California Adventure Park wearing a simple jean short and black top combo.
Disneyland outfit ideas for women
These are some of the outfits I’ve felt cute and comfortable wearing to Disneyland throughout the year.
Jean Jacket in November in Disneyland
- Brooks sneakers
- Lululemon leggings with side pockets (Align Hi-Rise 25")
- Madewell jean jacket
- Red ruffle tank top
- Black and pink Mickey ears
This is a super-comfortable Disney outfit for November in Disneyland. The weather was a bit back-and-forth...
So I walked to the parks from the Westin Anaheim (about 10 minutes) with the jean jacket on, took it off for some of the day, then put it back on when it cooled off after dinner.
Oversized sweater in Disneyland in December
- Peach oversized button-up sweater
- Black button-down tank top
- Jeans
- Brooks sneakers
- Pink sling backpack bag
- Black and pink Mickey ears
December in Disneyland can be a bit chilly, but it usually warms up mid-day to afternoon, so this was a good outfit for that type of weather in Anaheim.
Halloween outfits at Disneyland
People dress up a TON for the Oogie Boogie Bash Halloween party at night in Disneyland.
During the day, expect to see more outfits with Halloween colors and tons of Mickey ears in the shapes of pumpkins.
