My opinion of the Pixel Play Arcade

This arcade was a great first spot for us to visit when we arrived on our first night at Disney World.

Arcades are a fun non theme park activity for kids on a Disney vacation. For those resort-only days, or when you have an hour to explore after dinner.

My toddler was looking for some games to play before we headed back to our hotel, so an arcade visit was a must-do that evening.

For those that don’t know, most all Disney resorts have an onsite arcade. If they don’t, usually a nearby resort will have one.

What was great about playing at this arcade was the environment.

It’s a large arcade in comparison to other arcades that we visited.

(the Contemporary Resort Arcade is another favorite of ours which is even larger)

This arcade is closed off as well, so it’s easy to keep track of the kids.

We only have one kiddo though, so you’ll have to decide if you have multiple kids running around.

My toddler loved that this arcade had a mixture of racing games, shooting basketball games, and even carnival type games too.

All you need to do is load up a Disney playcard with some points and you’ll be good to go.

My final last tip for Disney arcades is that they usually have at least one claw machine that is a play until you win.

Meaning that you’ll pay once and can continue to play until you win an item.

Everyone loves to come away a winner, so definitely find the claw machine so you have a little souvenir to go home with.

Where is Pixel Play Arcade located at Disney World?

Again, you’ll find this arcade located at the Art of Animation Resort which is next to the Pop Century Resort and the Disney Skyliner.

It’s specifically right across from the Disney store located inside the resort.

Which is genius, because kids will want to go there next!

Getting to Pixel Play Arcade from Riviera Resort

We took the Disney Skyliner at night from Riviera to Art Of Animation.

This was after a wonderful dinner at Topolino's Terrace at the Disney Riviera Resort.

If you have the option, you should use the Disney Skyliner to get to the resort.

This is likely the easiest and most efficient way if you’re not already staying at the Art of Animation or Pop Century.

    FAQs

Does the Art of Animation have an arcade?

Yes. You’ll have a blast playing games at the Pixel Play Arcade.

Disney dining tips from Jenna Loves Magic

Remember: for any sit-down dinner or character meal, I recommend to definitely book 60 days out, or whenever your Disney dining dates open.

If you’re staying on site, you can book dining reservations earlier as a perk.

Don’t have reservations? Check regularly during your trip, on the app, or walk up to the restaurant early in the day and request a day-of reservation. Disney reservations are often dropped day-of since sometimes people “hoard them”.

I once was a walk-up and was told there would be a 90 minute wait for a table at Steakhouse 71.

Not a problem, since it’s an interesting hotel to walk around and they have an arcade.

Anyways, within 5 minutes my reservation was ready because someone canceled. So you never know.

Also see my other favorites on this list of the best places to eat at Disney World. (coming soon)

Are you ready, set, and go to play at the Pixel Arcade yet?

Hope that answers all your questions about having some family fun at Pixel Play Arcade located in the Art of Animation Resort.
